Who will like it: If you liked the Hunger Games and you also like fantasies then this is perfect for you, because it’s a great blend of both.

Title:  Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares

Author: Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

Summary: Told in the alternating voices of Dash and Lily, two sixteen-year-olds carry on a wintry scavenger hunt at Christmas-time in New York, neither knowing quite what–or who–they will find.    

Who will like it: This is a great book for readers who really like to get to know their characters. Also good for those who like anticipating how inevitable scenes will play out.

Series: The Hunger Games

Author: Suzanne Collins

Summary: In a future North America, where the rulers of Panem maintain control through an annual televised survival competition played to the death, sixteen-year-old Katniss’s skills are put to the test when she voluntarily takes her younger sister’s place.     

Why I picked it: The world Suzanne Collins creats and her characters are very realistic.

Who will like it: Everybody! I typically hate action books but LOVED this series.

Author: Cassandra Clare

Summary: Suddenly able to see demons and the Shadowhunters who are dedicated to returning them to their own dimension, fifteen-year-old Clary Fray is drawn into this bizzare world when her mother is kidnapped by a demon and Clary herself is almost killed by a monster. Clary soon discovers that this new, creepy world may be more apart of who she is than her regular life.

Who will like it: If you liked Twilight, but wished there was more to it than just the love story you will love this.
