World Language Collection
World Language Collection has Expanded
With a grant from the Barbara Bush Literacy Corps, we started a World Language Collection at the Larry J. Ringer Library in College Station. Each book purchased as part of this grant contains a note in the catalog and a bookplate in the book acknowledging Barbara Bush Literacy Corps. Our World Language collection has been moved to a bookcase near the magazines, videos, and adult audiobooks. The call number starts with the name of the language. In our catalog, all the Chinese books are together, but in the lists below, Simplified Chinese (mainland China) and Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong and Taiwan) are listed separately.
Thanks to a donation from TAMU’s Chinese Students and Scholars Assocation we were able to expand our collection further with more Chinese books. Books purchased with funds from this donation have bookplates in the front and notes in our catalog to acknowledge TAMU’s Chinese Students and Scholars Assocation.
Please click on a language below to see a list of the books we have purchased in that language with the Barbara Bush Literacy Corps grant. For each book, you can click to request the book. This means that you are on a waiting list for the book. When it is returned, it will go to the person at the top of the waiting list, and when that person returns the book, it goes to the next person. If you need help placing a request (putting a book on hold) or would like to see a printed list of the books in your preferred language, please ask at the Larry J. Ringer Library Reference Desk in person or by calling (979) 764-3416.
