Pumpkin Decorating Contest

October 1-23

Bring a real or artificial pumpkin decorated by your child, family, team, or class. All ages are welcome. Turn in your pumpkin at the Youth Services desk. Do not cut or carve the pumpkin. Pumpkins must fit on a shelf that is 9 inches deep. Pumpkins must be received by Thursday, October 23. Judging will take place on Friday, October 24. Pick up pumpkins October 27 - November 1. Contact the children's librarians at (979) 764-3416 with any questions.

Lego Creation Contest

Autumn Harvest Country Fair

Saturday, November 15, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

Come celebrate the autumn season on the lawn of the Mounce Library! (rain location- 2nd floor children’s area)
Games, crafts, snacks and fun!!! Free and open to children and families. You are welcome to dress up as your favorite book character!

Nutcracker Ballet Story-time

Thursday, December 11, 6:00 PM (seating at 5:30)

Ballet Brazos will dance the Nutcracker story to life as Ms. Bobbee reads from the picture book by Vladimir Vagin. Highlights from the upcoming Ballet Brazos performance of the Nutcracker Ballet will be featured. Thursday, December 11. Seating at 5:30 with performance at 6 pm. Cookies will be served. Teddy Bear Sleepover

Children's Catalog

The Children's Catalog is designed to help children find their own books and other library materials. Children can search by author, title, or keywords. There are also helpful subject guides to help children find exactly what they want to read.

Class Visits

Come visit the Library with your school! Our primary goal for class visits is to develop and nurture children's lifelong love of reading, literature, and the library. You must make a reservation for a class visit. Schools and day cares can schedule class visits. Contact Suzy at (979) 764-3416 to schedule a class visit at Larry J. Ringer Library in College Station. If you are interested in scheduling a class visit at the Mounce Library in Bryan, contact Bobbee at (979) 209-5615.

Book Sales

The Friends of the Library hold semi-annual book sales at Clara B. Mounce Public Library in Bryan and an annual book sale for children's books at the Larry J. Ringer Library in College Station. The next book sale in Bryan will be November 8-9, 2014, and the next children's book sale in College Station will be in March. Check back for details.
