Free ESL classes are available on Saturdays this spring. Registration is required. Registration was held at Clara B. Mounce Public Library on Saturday, January 25.

On February 1, ESL testing was held at Mounce Libray, and students were assigned to groups. Some of the groups will have classes at Mounce Library, and some will have classes at Neal Recreation Center.

Note: Please report to your assigned location (Mounce Library or Neal Rec Center). If you don't remember where your class is, contact Bobbee.

Play & literacy morning for infants through 6 years old

No storytime on April 10, because some of our librarians are attending the Texas Library Association Conference this week. But come to the library anyway! Bobbee will set out a variety of early literacy activities and toys in our new Mounce Early Literacy Playscape!
Come and pick up your child’s Playscape Passport and travel through the space doing the activities that you choose. I will hand out a star sticker on your passport for each literacy center you visit! Contact Bobbee at (979) 209-5616 for more information.

Also, come anytime and enjoy the new play kitchen and child-sized puppet theatre build under the leadership of Austin Molitor for his Eagle Scout leadership project! • A group of teen authors and teen artists encourage and critique each other’s work to help get you to the next level.
• Meets every first Friday of the month at the Mounce Public Library from 4:30-6:30.
• Stick with the group and next summer you could have your work published!
• Pizza will be provided, just bring your work and a good attitude with you.

ESL class (CBMPL or Neal Rec Ctr) Event Details

Free ESL classes are available on Saturdays this spring. Registration is required. Registration was held at Clara B. Mounce Public Library on Saturday, January 25.

On February 1, ESL testing was held at Mounce Libray, and students were assigned to groups. Some of the groups will have classes at Mounce Library, and some will have classes at Neal Recreation Center.

Note: Please report to your assigned location (Mounce Library or Neal Rec Center). If you don't remember where your class is, contact Bobbee.

Cell Phone Photography (CBMPL) Event Details

Learn how to take pictures with your cell phone and what to do with your pictures

Free program presented by professional photographer Doug Box. Doug has taught at seminars and conventions in all 50 states in the U.S. plus Canada, Mexico, Scotland, Wales, England, China, Ireland, Denmark and on 5 cruise ships. He is the co-founder of the Texas Photo Festival, and World Photographic.org. He is Past President and current Executive Director of the Texas Professional Photographers Association. He has served as Executive Director of ASP (American Society of Photographers), published ASP Magazine, has been an officer in his local Guild and is currently on the PPA Board. He is the owner of Texas Photographic Workshops, an internationally recognized educational facility where he teaches photographers of all levels how to create better photographs. He is an award-winning photographer who has owned very successful studios in Houston, Brenham, and Caldwell, TX. His articles and images have graced the pages of most professional photographic publications. He is the author of “125 Ways to Make Money with your Camera and Write Off Your Vacations.” and has written six books on photography including “Professional Secrets of Children’s Photography”, “Professional Secrets of Photographing Weddings”, “Natural Light Photography”, “Posing for Portrait Photographers”, Flash Photography” and his latest, “Available Light Photography”, published by Amherst Publishing. His students claim Doug is the cross between an stand up comedian and a Baptist preacher. He is one the most fun and easy to learn from instructor you will ever encounter.
