Adult Literacy Program
Barbara Bush Literacy Corps Adult Literacy Library Program (BBLC ALLP)
The Barbara Bush Literacy Corps Adult Literacy Library Program (BBLC ALLP) at the Mounce Public Library provides Adult Basic Education (ABE). The materials are funded through a generous grant from the Barbara Bush Literacy Corps. Classes may include one-on-one tutoring , small group classes, or large classes with a teacher and volunteers.
Adult Literacy at the library focuses on teaching adults beginning reading and reading improvement including workplace and health literacy.
The services of the Barbara Bush Literacy Corps Library Adult Literacy Program are free and available to persons in the Brazos Valley over 18 years of age who are not currently enrolled in Blinn College or in any public school program (such as GED classes at the Adult Learning Center).
To become a volunteer tutor, or register as a student, please contact the Family Literacy Librarian Bobbee Pennington via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or at the Clara Mounce Library at (979) 209-5600.
