Finalizing Manuscripts

Most of our teen writers have received feedback from their editors and should be ready to turn in their final manuscripts today (or email them this evening). Everyone should also have submitted a dedication, acknowledgements, and a short summary. Anyone who was not around to get a picture taken to be turned into a silhouette for the book’s cover should plan on doing that today (Aug. 2). Everyone should also finalize how they would like to be listed in the book (real name, nickname, pen name). After the anthology is compiled, Molly and I will do some copy-editing and proofreading, and writers will have a short amount of time to respond to any final editing concerns and proofread the book themselves before it is published. The book release party will be on Monday, September 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Ringer Library’s front meeting room. Each teen author will receive one free copy of the book, and Ringer and Mounce libraries will also each get a copy of the book that will become available for people to check out. Today (Aug. 2) is our last meeting until the party. Molly’s email and website are working again. If you have any questions, please contact us.
