    THOSE WHO ARE HERE

    Most distinguished of all the visitors here to attend the reunion is General J. C. Foster, General Commander of the Texas State United Confederate Veterans. He arrived on the noon train, accompanied by Mrs. Foster. Included in the arrivals were Dr. S. O. Young, Co. A, 5th Texas Regiment, Hood's Brigade, Houston; Captain John H. Roberts, Company E, 5th Texas Regiment, President of Hood's Texas Brigade organization, from Arcadia; S. O. Moodie, 1st Texas Regiment, Hood's Brigade, Houston. These three veterans of Hood's famous fighting unit, together with James Briggs, who arrived Wednesday morning from Fort Worth, comprise the four veterans who were on hand at 1:00 today, here early to be sure and be present at the opening session of the convention.

    Afternoon Arrivals

    Later arrivals on the afternoon (continued on page 6) trains were: J. J. Hail, Co. H, 5th Texas regiment, Hood's Brigade, Corsicana; J. W. Duren, 4th Texas Regiment, Calvert. This makes a total at press time of arrivals of members of the Brigade, stand at seven, with the possibility of a few more arriving on the early morning trains or on the south-bound I. G. N.

    Miss Daffan, secretary of the Brigade then read the list of those who have "passed over the river to be with Lee and Jackson," since the reunion of the brigade in Bryan in 1924, as follows: Capt. William C. Walsh, Austin, president; Capt. J. C. Wall, Crockett; Newton Berryman, Alto; M. Ross, Houston; Charley Scurry, Alto; Comrades, Jim Jones, H. Parker, and Wortham of the Confederate Home at Austin.
