Meet the Author Day – Mark Troy

Mark Troy, Author

Mark Troy writes hardboiled mysteries and detective stories. Most of his stories are set in Hawaii. One reviewer has called his stories “Hawaiian noir.” They are set in a side of paradise tourists seldom see. One series features Honolulu private eye, Val Lyon in Pilikia Is My Business, a novel, and Game Face, a collection of short stories. The other series features Ava Rome, a former MP turned detective who believes in the Hawaiian law of The Splintered Paddle, which, loosely translated, means the defenseless will be protected from harm. The Ava Rome stories include The Splintered Paddle, a novel, The Rules, a novella, and “IFHC,” a short story.

The Bryan+College Station Public Library System currently carries two of his books, one anthology that includes one of his short stories, and two of his eBooks (one novel and one short story).
