Here are some educational resources from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) — via the City of Bryan’s website — on how to prepare for flooding, how to protect your interests, how to reduce possible damage, floodplains and the National Flood Insurance Program. These resources will help you understand your flood risks, and how to best address them.

Locally specific information

The City of Bryan’s website has lots more information on local flood hazards, why our area floods, information about flood insurance, and what a floodplain actually is.

FEMA floodplain maps

Do you know if you’re home is built in a floodplain? There are FEMA floodplain maps on the BCS Unified Design Guidelines website that can show you, and can help you understand your risks and what you can do about it.
