Star Wars Reads Day started as a way to promote literacy for children and the Bryan + College Station Library System is continuing that tradition.

Larry J. Ringer Library in College Station will host this year’s Star Wars Reads Day on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. This will be a come and go event, so feel free to drop in as your schedule allows.

Kids who want to participate will be able to create their very own Chewbacca Puppet, Yoda Ears Headband and mini Lightsaber. There will also be games like the Death Star Bean Bag Toss and Pin the Hair Buns on Princess Leia!

The Star Garrison Group of the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers will be making an appearance and judging our costume contest. Come decked out in your favorite Star Wars costume or T-shirt. Anyone 18-years-old and younger can participate in the contest at 3:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded.
